The Pre-Vetting Commission announces that during 19 – 21 July, 2023, the last six candidates from the second group of non-judges nominated by the Parliament for the position of member of the Superior Council of Magistracy (SCM), will be interviewed. The public hearings will take place as follows:

- 1:00 p.m. – Nicolae Agachi
The hearings will be held in the premises of the National Institute of Justice, room 108 (Alexandru Ion Cuza) (M. Kogălniceanu street corner with Serghei Lazo street 1). Civil society, media representatives and the general public can participate by notifying the Commission Secretariat in advance at press@vettingmd.com.
The Commission notes that live streaming, as well as taking pictures during the entire sessions is prohibited. The Secretariat of the Commission will provide interested journalists with photos during the hearings, and the recordings of the hearings will be placed on the website of the Commission www.vetting.md in the section Transparency -> Hearings and the YouTube channel https://www.youtube.com/@comisia.prevetting within 24 hours after the end of the hearings.
Note: Following the decision of the Legal, Appointments and Immunities Committee of 5 May 2023, the Parliament forwarded to the Pre-Vetting Commission the list of nine non-judicial candidates for Superior Council of Magistrates membership. These include self-employed lawyers, attorneys and representatives of civil society and academia, who are going through the Pre-Vetting Commission’s financial and ethical integrity evaluation process in order to become eligible to run for a position of permanent member to the SCM. Of the nine candidates, one withdrew from the competition and two were heard by the Commission on July 14.
