The Pre-Vetting Commission informs that it has started the evaluation process of the first group of 27 candidates for the position of SCM member from among judges. One candidate withdrew from the competition (judge Mihail COJOCARU ), respectively the Commission evaluated 27 candidates.
On June 2, 2022, the Commission published and sent to all candidates the draft of the Declaration of wealth and personal interests form and the one regarding the list of close persons from the judicial system, the prosecutor’s office and the public service, based on art. 9 paragraph 2 of Law no. 26/2022, for information and possible questions and comments.
On June 21, 2022, the Commission invited all candidates, including the 27 SCM candidates, to voluntarily complete an Ethical Integrity Questionnaire, with a deadline of July 5, 2022.
On July 8, 2022, the Commission sent the first 27 candidates to the CSM the Declaration of wealth and personal interests form and the one regarding the list of close persons from the judicial system, the prosecutor’s office and the public service, based on art. 9 paragraph 2 of Law no. 26/2022 with the request to submit the completed declaration by July 15, 2022, inclusive.
25 of the 27 candidates submitted the Ethical Integrity Questionnaire.
26 of the 27 candidates have returned the Declaration of wealth and personal interests! One of the candidates, judge Gheorghe BALAN, did not submit the Declaration of wealth and personal interests, which led to the non-promotion of the evaluation, by the Commission’s decision of July 21, 2022.
