Anatolie Gîrbu, the deputy chief prosecutor of Ungheni District Prosecution Office and candidate for the position of member in Superior Council of Prosecutors (SCP), underwent a repeated evaluation by the Pre-Vetting Commission in accordance with Article 14, paragraph (10) of Law No. 26/2022 and based on the conclusions of the Supreme Court of Justice (SCJ). On 1 August 2023 SCJ upheld the candidate’s challenge and ordered the resumed evaluation.
The Commission publicly interviewed the candidate to clarify the factual situation and address serious doubts of financial and ethical integrity. Following the resumed evaluation procedure, the Commission issues a decision regarding the promotion or failure to promote the evaluation.
