Ana Tipa is a candidate from the second group of non-judges, nominated by the Parliament for the position of member in the Superior Council of Magistracy (SCM) and was publicly interviewed by the Pre-Vetting Commission in the context of financial and ethical integrity evaluation of the candidates to the SCM. T
he public hearing was held in accordance with the provisions of Law no. 26/2022 and the Evaluation Regulation of the Commission and touched upon failure to comply with the legal regime for the declaration of assets and personal interests over different periods of time. In particular, the Commission members pursued to clarify the issues of the candidate’s failure to submit declarations on income and property during her childcare leave in 2014-2016, the failure to declare bank accounts of a family member in 2012-2013, and a donation received in 2013.
🔸Similar to the group of the judicial candidates, non-judges are evaluated by the Pre-Vetting Commission in order to become eligible for a position as a permanent member of the SCM. Financial and ethical integrity checks cover a period of 15 years.
Following the evaluation procedure, the Commission issues a decision regarding the promotion or failure to promote the evaluation.
