The Pre-Vetting Commission announces that Cristina Robu, candidate for the position of member of the Superior Council of Prosecutors (SCP) and interim deputy to the Chief Prosecutor of the Anticorruption Prosecution Office, South office, failed the evaluation due to her withdrawal from the competition.
The decision will be published on the websites of the Commission and the PSC, the institution responsible for organizing the competition, within 48 hours, unless the candidate notifies the Commission that she objects to publication. Cristina Robu may appeal the decision to the Supreme Court of Justice within 5 days from the receipt, without prior procedure.
There are 16 candidates remaining in the competition for membership for SCP, for which the Pre-Vetting Commission is conducting an assessment of financial and ethical integrity. Only those who pass the Commission’s evaluation will be eligible for election to the new composition of the Superior Council of Prosecutors.
18 candidates applied for the SCP, including 17 prosecutors from the General Prosecutor’s Office, territorial and specialized prosecutors’ offices and one civil society representative proposed by the Academy of Sciences. The integrity checks cover a period of 15 years.
