On 20 and 22 December 2023, at 4:00 PM, the Pre-Vetting Commission will conduct the public hearings of the candidates:
- December 20, 2023, 4:00 PM – Dr. Mihail SORBALA, candidate for membership in the Superior Council of Prosecutors from among civil society representatives.
- December 22, 2023, 4:00 PM – judge Ecaterina BUZU, candidate for membership in the Superior Council of Magistracy. The hearing is part of the resumed evaluation procedure of the candidate, as mandated by the Supreme Court of Justice that admitted candidate’s appeal.
Both interviews will be public and will be conducted online via the ZOOM platform. Those wishing to participate are requested to notify the Commission’s Secretariat in advance at the e-mail address secretariat@vetting.md by Wednesday, December 20, 2023, 12:00 (for the hearing of December 20) and by Friday, 22 December 2023, 12:00 (for the hearing of December 22), to receive the link for connecting to the session. In the notification, the name and surname of the participant as well as the organization she/he represents (if relevant) will be provided mandatory.
IMPORTANT: Throughout the hearing, participants from civil society, the media, and the general public will not be allowed to record videos, take photographs, or raise questions to the candidate or Commission members. Failure to comply with these rules will result in removal from the ZOOM meeting.
After the conclusion of the hearing, video recordings in Romanian and English will be published on the Commission’s website www.vetting.md and the YouTube channel https://www.youtube.com/@comisia.prevetting.
