The non-judge candidate to the SCM, Vanu Jereghi, withdrew from the competition

The Pre-Vetting Commission informs that Vanu Jereghi, candidate for the position of member in the Superior Council of Magistracy (SCM), withdrew from the competition, thus failing the evaluation, based on art. 13 para. (1) of Law no. 26/2022.

The Commission’s decision was sent to the candidate and to the Parliament, the institution responsible for organizing the contest in this case, and the information on the evaluation result was published on the Commission’s web page. If the candidate does not notify the Commission that he opposes the publication of the decision within 48 hours, the reasoned decision will be placed on its web page, in a depersonalized form. The candidate is entitled to appeal the decision of the Commission within 5 days from receiving the decision.

Vanu Jereghi is part of the second group of nine non-judges candidates, nominated by the Parliament to the position of member to the SCM. The eight candidates remaining in the competition are to be publicly interviewed by the Pre-Vetting Commission during the hearings scheduled for 14 – 21 July 2023.
