The independent commission for evaluating the integrity of candidates for the position of member in the self-administration bodies of judges and prosecutors (hereinafter – the Pre-Vetting Commission) is responsible for the independent evaluation of candidates for the position of member in the self-administration bodies of judges and prosecutors. The Pre-Vetting Commission is made up of six members appointed according to art. 5 of Law no. 26/2022 by Parliament Decision no. 88 of April 4, 2022. The evaluation process represents an important reform for the promotion of integrity and responsibility in the justice sector, as well as an essential step in the European integration process of the Republic of Moldova.
The press conference will cover the following topics:
• The mission of the Pre-Vetting Commission in the context of strengthening integrity and responsibility in the justice sector in Moldova.
• The preparatory work carried out, including the essential documents of the “Pre-Vetting” Commission and the preliminary publication of the Ethics Questionnaire and the Declaration for 5 years.
• Preliminary schedule of activities and next steps.
