The Pre-Vetting Commission members Nadejda Hriptievschi and Victoria Henley participated in the talk-show “Bună seara”

The members of the Pre-Vetting Commission, Nadejda Hriptievschi and Victoria Henley, discussed during the talk-show “Bună seara” with Mircea Surdu, on Moldova 1 TV channel, the importance of the vetting process, through the filter of integrity evaluation, of candidates for positions in the main self-administration bodies of judges and prosecutors – the Superior Council of Magistracy (SCM) and the Superior Council of Prosecutors (SCP) – the pillars of the judiciary. The protagonists spoke about the premises underlying the extraordinary evaluation of judges and prosecutors and the long-term benefits of this exercise for the justice system and citizens.

In the interview, find out the answers to the questions why the vetting of candidates for the SCP, which is at the stage of public hearings, would go faster compared to the evaluation of candidates for the SCM, but also how the Pre-Vetting Commission is working with state institutions in the process of gathering relevant information about the candidates under evaluation, how open the authorities are in this regard.

With reference to the social realities of the Republic of Moldova, Victoria Henley, international member of the Pre-Vetting Commission, reiterated during the show that in the evaluation process, both national and international members of the Commission objectively examine cases from the point of view of the written law, and not from the customary aspect.
