Six judicial candidates for the position of member in the Superior Council of Magistracy (SCM) passed the public hearing test before the Pre-Vetting Commission. During the evaluation process, the profiles of the six candidates were thoroughly analyzed, and the Commission identified several uncertainties related to their ethical and financial integrity. As a result, magistrates Mihail Bușuleac (Cahul Court, Central Office), Marina Rusu (Cahul Court, Taraclia Office), Ion Chirtoacă (Chisinau Court, Buiucani Office), Victor Sandu (Chisinau Court, Centru Office), Veronica Cupcea (Orhei Court, Head Office) and Aureliu Postică (Chisinau Court, Buiucani Office) were invited to an interview to clarify them.

The entire process of the hearings was documented by video and audio, except for the deliberations and the parts where aspects related to the private lives of the candidates were examined, which took place behind closed doors. Commission member Victoria Henley attended the hearings remotely. The recordings of the hearings were made public.

The Pre-Vetting Commission will issue substantiated decisions whether the promoted or failed the evaluation within one month. Up to this moment, 21 candidates for positions in the SCM, out of the 23 remaining in the competition, have been publicly heard by the Commission.
