Pre-Vetting Commission resumes the evaluation process of judge Marina Rusu, following the decision of the Supreme Court of Justice

The Evaluation Commission for assessing the integrity of candidates for the position of member in the self-administration bodies of judges and prosecutors (Pre-Vetting Commission) announces the launch of the resumed evaluation of judge Marina Rusu, candidate for membership in the Superior Council of Magistracy (SCM), after the Supreme Court of Justice (SJC) upheld the appeal of candidate by its decision of 29 January 2024.

The Pre-Vetting Commission has notified today the candidate Marina Rusu about the launch of the resumed evaluation, based on Article 14 paragraph (10) of Law No. 26/2022 and the SCJ conclusions.

After the issuance of the SCJ decisions of 1 August 2023 and 29 January 2024 ordering the re-evaluation of 22 candidates for membership in the Superior Council of Magistracy or the Superior Council of Prosecutors, so far, the Pre-Vetting Commission has finalised/terminated the re-evaluation of 10 candidates.
