Mandate

The integrity of the justice sector is one of the basic challenges of our society and represents one of the constant commitments of the Republic of Moldova in the context of negotiations with development partners, which can be found in most national policy documents.

In this context, the "Pre-Vetting" Commission is the institution that takes care that only candidates, who meet the highest standards of financial and ethical integrity, are eligible for positions in the self-governing bodies of judges and prosecutors.
The commission has the mission of comprehensively assessing the ethical and financial integrity of candidates for the main positions in the administration of justice, based on extensive investigations of professional activity, compliance with standards of honesty and professionalism, as well as the absence of doubtful actions that cause suspicions of corruption.

Through its activity, the "Pre-Vetting" Commission tends to increase the integrity of the future members of the Superior Council of Magistracy, the Superior Council of Prosecutors and their specialized bodies and to increase society's trust in the justice system and in the activity of the self-governing bodies of judges and prosecutors.
